Stud dog Mi Amigo boy de Leo's vom Kvallk pays a visit to Lona Lions from D'Es.

Spring-fever in our Leo-herd! This week, Lona Lions from D'Es got a visit from stud dog Mi Amigo de Leo's vom Kvallk.

By the end of April, we will know for sure wetter this romantic encounter was successful /fertile. Fingers crossed!

Saturday, March 28th 2015, International Dog-show in Luxemburg.

Big first appearance for Nice Lions from D’Es ! We used our new Leo-mobil to get there (it’s not entirely finished on the inside, but we managed..)

For Nice, it’s her First time appearing in a dog-show, but she’s able to keep calm very well. One glance at her mommy Jetaime and she knows what to do and how to do it. No stress.

Judge John Williams (The Netherlands) judges the 29 Leonbergers that are taking part in this competition and has this evaluation for our dogs :

Mi Amigo Boy de Leo’s vom Kvallk: Open Class Males: 2nd place – Excellent – RCACL.

Nice Lions from D’Es : Puppy class Females: 1st place – Promising – Best Puppy – Ring of honor.

Jetaime Lions from D’Es : Champion class :1st place – Excellent – CAC – CACLIB – Best Female – Best Opposite Sex.

Thank you, Judge Williams. We are very proud of all our dogs, but what Nice did on her first appearance, was outstanding. Mommy Jetaime and daughter Nice both won 1st place, which is amazing!

The moment has come : two more pups are leaving…

The moment has come : our pink/white ribbon is leaving.

She’s been given the name Nikita. Nikita Lions from D’Es weighed 670 gr when she was born.

Tequila, the Berner Senner, is very excited about the fact that she’s getting a Leo-sister. Together, they can run in the big yard and have all these great adventures.

We wish Nikita a happy and healthy doglife.

The moment has come: our red/green ribbon is leaving.

She’s been given the name Norah. Norah Lions from D’Es weighed 640gr when she was born. Norah will be living with very nice owners. Their two teenagers were raised in the presence of a Leonberger.

And now, the time is exactly right to allow a new teddy into their home and hearts.

We wish Norah a happy and healthy doglife.

Hydro Lions From D'Es, hydrotherapie

WAAROM ZWEMMEN?

Zwemmen met je hond is gewoon leuk maar het is ook heel gezond. Mensen komen naar ons hydrotherapiecenter met honden die last hebben van heupdysplasie, elleboogdysplasie, gescheurde ligamenten, artrose, rugproblemen, spierblessures of overgewicht. Met hydrotherapie kan je je hond op verschillende manieren helpen. De fysieke inspanning op zich is goed voor de gezondheid van je hond, zorgt voor een betere ontwikkeling van de spiermassa en is goed voor de behandeling van pijn bij bv. artrose.

Ook gezonde, opgroeiende honden hebben baat bij hydrotherapie. Het bevordert een evenwichtige opbouw van spieren en gewrichten. Bij oudere honden onderhoudt hydrotherapie de spiermassa zonder zware inspanning en overbelasting. Honden zwemmen van nature... maar niet allemaal! 

Bij sommige rassen is "leren zwemmen" nodig. Hydrotherapie is trouwens veel meer dan zwemmen alleen. Het zorgt voor een perfect hondenleven: niet alleen fysiek maar ook mentaal. Het is ideaal voor een goede socialisatie en trouwens perfect tegen stress bij je hond.

WAT IS HYDROTHERAPIE?

Wij beschikken over een hydrotherapiebak met een vlakke loopband en een hydrotherapiebak met een loopband met een hellingsgraad van 8 tot 30 graden.

De hydrotherapie op zich bestaat uit doelgerichte oefeningen die op een zachte manier in water worden uitgevoerd om op die manier terug spiermassa op te bouwen. Door de beweging in water wordt de aanmaak van gewrichtsvocht gestimuleerd zodat er als het ware een olie-achtige film rond de gewrichten wordt gelegd. De bloedsomloop van je hond wordt ook gestimuleerd door de intensiteit van de oefeningen en de warmte van het water.

Eén hydrotherapiesessie duurt een half uur.

De aanwezigheid van het baasje is heel belangrijk (zeker de eerste keren) om je hond gerust te stellen en hem te stimuleren om de oefeningen op de loopband in het water te doen.
